12th June 2017: Assam Governor and Assam Chief Minister extends support to UTSAH's Anti-child labour campaign
UTSAH appoints new Accountant Ms. Aparajita Mahanta from 2nd May 2017.
January 2017: UTSAH launches Child Rights Comic Strips on National Girl Child Day with support from UNICEF and Government of Assam
Oct 2016: UTSAH launches its second Community-based Child Protection Centre covering 200 children from the Fancy Bazar Gate No.3&4, slum areas of Guwahati. Concept Eduventures Pvt. Ltd. Guwahati supports the Non Formal Education component of the programme. Shri. Ashutosh Agnihotri, IAS, Commissioner & Secretary, Transport; CEO-GMDA, MD-Smart City, Govt. Of Assam, inaugurates the programme on 16th October 2016.
Oct 2016: fbb Femina Miss India 2016 Ms. Priyadarshini Chatterjee collaborates with UTSAH for her Miss World “Beauty with A Purpose”(BWAP) project. Commits herself to fight against Child Sexual Abuse(CSA) in partnership with UTSAH in Assam.
Sep 2016: Ms. Megha Kashyap, Programme Manager, UTSAH, tenders her regisation stating personal reasons. UTSAH accepts her resignation and relieves Ms. Kashyap of all her responsibilities.
Miguel Queah, Founder Chairperson took part in a high level transnational treaty on Anti Human Trafficking Model of Impulse NGO Network in Myanmar and Bangkok from 14th of June to 23rd of June.
June 2016: To mark 12th June, 2016; World Day Against Child Labour observed by ILO, UTSAH in association with Electic Northeast organised a weeklong IEC Campaign to sensitize and spread awareness about Child Labour in Supply Chains. The campaign started off with a poster campaign where UTSAH Team Members went to different establishments in the city and pasted the campaign poster in their premises while explaining the context to the employees and staff. As a part of the events, UTSAH also conducted a ‘Sticker Campaign’ wherein messages in the form of car stickers were distributed to vehicles plying in the streets of Guwahati.
May 2016: Megha Kashyap, a post graduate from Tata Institute of Social Sciences, joins UTSAH as the Programme Manager. Prior to joining TISS, Megha had extensively work on gender issues across the region and one of her last engagement was a joint project on Gender Budgeting in North East India. Currently she manages all the programmes of the organisation.
April 2016: UTSAH completes 5 years on 10th of March, 2016. The event was graced by the Governor of Assam, His Excellency, P.B. Acharya, Honourable Chairperson of the Assam State Commission for the Protection of Child Rights, Smt. Runumi Gogoi, Chief of Field, Unicef Assam, Dr. Tushar Rane, Commissioner and Secretary for Sports and Youth Welfare, Shri Ajay Shankar Tiwari and Child Protection Specialist, Unicef Assam, Shri Vedprakash Gautam amongst other notable dignitaries from across the country. The event was held at Taj Vivanta, Guwahati
March 2016: Aangan Trust, Mumbai partners with UTSAH to start a new project on establishing Model CWC Committees in Guwahati and Nagaon. The project is currently underway.
