Assam Police wins National level Award for Sishu Mitra Program:

29 October 2020: The Assam Police was awarded with the Governance Now-India Police Awards 2020 for Capacity Building today, for its novel Assam Police Sishu Mitra Program. 
The Sishu Mitra Program is a holistic Child Friendly Policing Program undertaken by the Assam Police, in collaboration with UTSAH Child Rights Org Assam and UNICEF. 
The Sishu Mitra Program was conceptualized by UTSAH Child Rights Org in 2018. 

The Sishu Mitra Program was launched by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Assam in 2019, and aims to enhance the capacities of the Police Station level Police Officers to respond to child-related cases more effectively and efficiently.
The Award was received by Mr. Harmeet Singh, IPS, Additional DGP, Assam through a virtual ceremony. 
This National level award has been instituted by Governance Now, a Sri Adhikari Brothers Enterprise, to recognize innovative programs undertaken by the Indian Police across the country.
