UTSAH lodges FIR; senior official of SOS Guwahati arrested in alleged CSA Case

GUWAHATI: A senior official of SOS Children’s Village, Guwahati, has been arrested on charges of molesting three minor girls who are among the 140 children who live in the village.

The village at Azara was set up under the international organization, SOS Children’s Villages International, in 1988. The SOS Villages organization states its aim is to “protect and care for children who have lost parental care or stand to lose it.”

Guwahati: Three Assam police officers were arrested today on charges of murdering a juvenile in February this year.

Former officer-in-charge of Bharalumukh police station here, Uma Bora, sub-inspector Azizur Rahman, and Tamizuddin Ahmed were arrested today following an investigation revealing that Raja Ali, a 13-year-old boy who was arrested on charges of theft, died after being beaten up by the trio in police custody.
