UTSAH ED trains Meghalaya Cops

On 22nd of March 2021, our Executive Director,Miguel Das Queah, was invited by the Meghalaya Police Training School to conduct orientation for 50 Police Officers from all the Police Stations of Meghalaya. The topic of the training session was “Understanding the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012(POCSO Act)“. 
In an interactive session, our Executive Director provided insights into the substantive and procedural aspects of thr POCSO Act. Following which, he touched up the procedures that are to be complied with, by Investigating Officers while dealing with cases registered under the POCSO Act. 

He also explained the importance of application of child-friendly behaviour and attitudes by Police officers while dealing with children. 
The training programme was organized at the St. Anthony’s College auditorium, Shillong. The Programme was organized by the Meghalaya Police Training School with support from Bureau of Police Research and Development, Ministry of Home Affairs, Goverment of India. The Director General of Police, Meghalaya, Mr. R. Chandranathan, IPS ; The Additional Chief Secretary, Home, Meghalaya, Ms. R. Suchiang, IAS and Additional Director General of Police, Meghalaya, Ms.I. Nongrang, IPS, also attended the programme.
